Delete Your Account
You can delete your Kinsight Secure™ account at any time, from within the app. No retention offers, no guilt screens, no support-ticket maze. Deletion starts a 30-day scheduled erasure, after which your data is permanently removed from our servers. This page explains the steps, exactly what is deleted, and the small set of records we keep as a legal record.
How to delete your account
- Open the Kinsight Secure™ app.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Only the account holder (the adult who created the account) can delete the account. Other family members don't hold the account — adult members can leave the family group at any time from within the app instead, while minor members must be removed by the account holder.
Deletion starts a 30-day scheduled erasure. During that window the account can be reactivated; after it, the erasure is permanent and cannot be undone.
What is deleted
When the 30-day window ends, the following are permanently removed from our servers, and any active subscription is canceled:
- Your account — including your email address and the display names you set.
- Your encryption keys — the device keys and attestations associated with your family.
- Your family-membership records — your family group's structure, roles, and member records.
Your location, messages, and SOS details are end-to-end encrypted and were never stored on our servers in readable form to begin with — undelivered encrypted payloads are held briefly in memory for delivery and then discarded, never written to a database (Privacy Policy §5).
What is retained, and why
- Beta/NDA acceptance records — retained permanently as a legal record of the agreement — including the email address tied to that acceptance, so the record identifies who agreed and when — even after account deletion (Privacy Policy §5).
- Your account data, during the 30-day window only — held so the deletion can be reversed if you change your mind, then permanently erased.
- Security/audit log entries and hashed device fingerprints — automatically deleted after 90 days.
- Issue and error reports you sent us — kept for support and quality purposes; ask us at the address below to delete yours at any time.
- Parent/guardian consent affirmations — retained as a record that consent was given when a child was added.
That is the complete list. Nothing else survives deletion.
No longer have the app?
You can request account deletion without reinstalling anything. Email privacy@kinsightsecure.com from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will verify the request and start the same 30-day scheduled erasure described above.
